Membership in Celebrate Outreach! is open to:
CO! members must be committed to the mission, vision and values of Celebrate Outreach!
CO! members agree to support and promote the following mission statement: “Celebrate Outreach! is a partnership of St. Petersburg-area faith-based congregations and individuals which is dedicated to preventing and ending homelessness in our area through social justice, advocacy, community education and direct service.”
Our vision is a society in which all people are treated with dignity and respect, and as a result insures that everyone has safe, decent, affordable housing, enough food to eat, and a means to make an honest living.
Celebrate Outreach! is dedicated to outreach. We believe in treating all members of our community with dignity, and working with those who are experiencing homelessness or at risk for homelessness to the end that they are liberated from homelessness, hunger, violence, discrimination and injustice. Our organization has no political affiliation. Our activities flow from and are informed by the following values:
Responsibilities and Benefits of Membership
The following are the responsibilities and Benefits of membership in CO! If a member has any questions, comments, or concerns regarding CO!, they should contact any officer of the Board of Directors.
CO! members will promote unity within the organization by always acting in accordance to the Membership Covenant, and encouraging other members to do likewise. Unity can be promoted by always giving a good report rather than causing division through being negative and argumentative. Members should seek to be peacemakers.
CO! members will act gently and respectfully toward others at all times. In meetings, members will observe proper decorum, allowing one person to speak at a time and not seeking to dominate or monopolize the meeting. Everyone's opinion is important, but no one's opinion is more important.
CO! members will help support the organization. Members should also invite others to attend CO! functions and warmly welcome those who visit us.
CO! members will help the organization accomplish its mission in the community by volunteering their time and talent. This service includes participating in regular meetings and activities, special events, and outreach projects.
Rights of Privacy
The privacy of CO! members is very important to us. Personal information, including contact information, will not be used for any purpose except for business relating to CO! and will not be shared with any other individual or organization.
Members seeking to voluntarily terminate their membership should notify the Secretary of the Board of Directors if at any time they can no longer commit to the Membership Covenant.
